Qarina
Qarina are a type of Djinn.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Qarina are humanoid, and are minor shapeshifters, able to transform into large cats (about the size of a medium-sized dog). Qarina also have prehensile tails, with a retractable stinger on the end. This stinger can be used to inject two different types of venom: one soporific and the other aphrodisiac. When in their cat form, their tails remain prehensile and the stingers still function.
Genetics and Reproduction
Qarina reproduce sexually, and are viviparous. Their gestation period is eleven months.
Growth Rate & Stages
Qarina develop their venom glands at age four, and gain the ability to transform at age nine.
Ecology and Habitats
Qarina typically live in deserts, and have a high heat resistance.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Qarina are omnivorous, and are somewhat adaptable.

Qarina have above average sight, with moderate night vision, and are otherwise average.
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Qarina have a reputation of being quite jealous, sometimes to the point of violence. Like many stereotypes, this is neither entirely true nor entirely false.
Many people believe that qarina are related somehow to Succubi, but this is as of yet unconfirmed. It is not uncommon for those unfamiliar with Irkalla to conflate the two.
