Ormshire Castle
Purpose / Function
Even though it is refereed to as a castle the true purpose of Ormshire is to teach incredibly gifted minds military strategy. Young minds who show an aptitude for militaristic ideas are pulled from their homes and forced to enlist in the academy where they are trained to be the perfect general/commander.
Architecture
Built similarly to the Roman Pantheon, it has a large open porch with columns outside the main entrance, called a portico. The most amazing feature of Ormshire, however, is the domed roof, the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. At the center of this dome is an oculus, a circular hole that lets in natural light.
History
Commissioned to be built right after the ending of the first Wrym War this structure marked a drastic change in the culture and lifestyle of those living within The Ember Isles.
Tourism
The only tourist allowed entry are carefully vetted by Octavian himself and must pay a great sum to be granted entry.
