Purpose / Function
The Ruins of Soot were original known as The Serpents Shrine. Built by Yuan-Ti native to The Noxious Jungle and approved by Talverton the original Duke of The Noxious Jungle. The shrine was built in worship of Serqet Goddess of Serpents.
Alterations
The shrine remained the same for almost 2000 years until one day Balagos sent a small group of Red Dragons to burn the Shrine to the ground. Leaving nothing but charred ruins where the great temple once stood.
Architecture
The shrine was built similarly to that of the great pyramids. Heavy set stone blocks stacked upon one another sealed with sovereign glue, and covered in the poisonous flora native to the jungle.
History
The shrine remained standing for almost 2000 years until an unannounced and what many believed to be an unprovoked attack came from Balagos burning the once great shrine to mere ruins. Balagos sent 3 of his trusted guard to destroy the once great shrine burning it to the ground. The 3 red dragons flew from The Ember isles to The noxious jungle flying over Fort Starlight in the process. When the red dragons arrived they unleashed mighty breathe weapon attacks upon the shrine destroying it and anyone inside at the time. One thing the red dragons did not account for was the combustible nature of flora growing on the shrine. When the dragons fire hit the shrine a massive explosion erupted destroying everything in the nearby area. The dragons immediately fled back to there home having completed their task. Naldrossa sent dragons of her own to ward off the Red dragons in her territory however they were far too late. Many speculate as to what truly happened that day. How could 3 Ancient dragons fly right over Fort starlight without being stopped and more specifically how was Naldrossa the most cunning and cynical of all the Dragon rulers caught so off guard. No one knows for certain what happened that day and it has moved to the back of the minds of many Noxians, However the Yuan-ti have not forgotten.
Tourism
No one other than Yuan-ti with their natural resistance to poison dare venture into the ruins. The air is filled with toxic gas ever since the massive explosion destroyed the once great shrine.
