The Golden Moor

Structure

The Golden Moor is led by its one true king (currently Kalaphex). The King rules over the land with the assistance of his high council and the church of Ulldar. The King and the church work together to form a council to assist the King in ruling over the country. The king is allowed to have as many or as few members on his council as he wants. Typically, the king has enough members on the council to take on huge tasks such as Lord or Lady of Coin, Ships, Farming, Entertainment, Construction, and Technology. There are more potential options that are at the discretion of the King, but these are a few major examples. Kalaphex and his council do their best to provide a good life for all of their people. The country has assigned salaries that are associated with all the various jobs within the country, guaranteeing some sort of livelihood for every citizen. There are large discrepancies in the amounts between jobs, but even small farmers make enough to live off of. The only individuals who do not live by this system are merchants within the cities.

Culture

The Mooric are one of the few religious people within Agodale. They still worship Ulldar, the God of Law, to this day, despite the fact that gods have not shown any signs of existence to the majority of people in over 400 years. However, many clerics and paladins within the city have either maintained their magical powers or gained them since the Reckoning. Leading many folk within the moor to believe the gods are still out there in a weakened state. Moorics are taught to believe their faith in Ulldar is what will bring him back to his former glory and power. They also see Kalaphex as their chosen king, with Ulldar giving him unyielding loyalty from many of his subjects. The moor is also host to some of the most strict and stringent laws of all the countries. Many believe this to be for the better, while some citizens feel they are being oppressed, unable to grow, and stuck following a dead god of the past.

Public Agenda

Kalaphex's personal goal to rid the world of all evil is an agenda that trickles down to many of his citizens. Creating a society with a very harsh punishment system for wrongdoers and lawbreakers.

Assets

The moor is located in one of the most fertile areas in all of Agodale. They are constantly selling food and flora to other countries. One of the country's most valuable and sought-after assets is its livestock. Horses and oxen specifically.

History

The moor was initially founded by Gerald, a dragonborn Paladin of Ulldar. He said Ulldar spoke to him in his dreams one night and promised him that if he worked for it, he could create one of the most magnificent countries in the world. This event sparked Gerald to settle on the moor and create the city of Everton. Every policy Gerald enacted within the city, he claimed, was the direct commandment of Ulldar himself. Gerald quickly founded the Church of Ulldar and hand-picked members to lead this church. Gerald sought to rid the world of evil just as Kalaphex did, and one day while he was doing just that, he found himself infected with a deadly disease known as the insidious blight. Gerald had only a few weeks to live before the blight took his life. In that time, he left his people with as many commandments from Ulldar as he could, and on his death bed, he spoke of a means to pick the next king. "Search the land for the chosen one of Ulldar. For only one blessed by our god can lead our country to its true glory." Thus creating an honored tradition within the moor, but within this commandment, Gerald also gave the church a tremendous amount of power.
