Ghillain Avecire, daughter of Sybil Avecire - third ruler of Lasceye - rose to power only eight years ago. Before that, she served as a commander under Queen-General Morgaine Lafont. The ideal Lascyan, Ghillain was a disciplined soldier, a clever commander, and a loyal subject. As such, she earned a place as the Queen's confidant, as well as her commander, and it was evident for years before she assumed the throne that she was the heir-apparent.
Ghillain's first order of business as Queen was to end the isolation policy held for so long by the Elves of Lasceye. For the first time since Lasceye's founding, scouts have been seen in Vesmos and Kaisu. She has even sent an ambassador to both countries, though so far they have made no indication of their agenda.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Even for an Elf, Ghillain looks young for her post. She is short with soft, youthful features the belie her experience. She is almost always seen in armor and prefers dark, subdued colors in an attempt to seem more somber. A very serious woman, she rarely smiles in the presence of others and has a sort of standoffish aura about her.

Personal history
Ghillain Avecire was not born into nobility or wealth - or whatever version of that the Lascyans have. Neither of her parents continued their military service beyond the mandatory years. Her father is a blacksmith and her mother a cook. In training, Ghillain excelled at strategy, hand-to-hand combat, and swordsmanship. She started as a scout and within a few years, she was leading her own team. She rose quickly in the ranks and by the time she was 200 years old, she was a commander of her own battalion. It was around this time that she began to get close to the Queen. Her strategical prowess made her a valuable advisor, but soon the two were nearly inseparable. People whispered about what kind of relationship the two might have, but no one dared suggest anything improper to their faces.
Ten years ago, Ghillain's world was shaken when Morgaine fell ill. For two years, she lingered, slowly growing weaker and more sickly. As she deteriorated, Ghillain took on more and more of her responsibilities, so when, two years later, the transition of power finally took place, it was completely seamless.
Education
Ghillain's education, like all the Elves of Lasceye, was in bootcamp. In addition to reading and writing, Ghillain learned strategy, history, combat, and survival.
Morality & Philosophy
Ghillain is committed to her country. She knows that while the Elves have learned to survive as they are, they will only truly flourish if they are able to expand. Without the forces to take the Howling Plains, she knows this means breaking the policy of isolation that has dominated Lascyan politics to this point.

Ghillain cares deeply about her people, and she takes her role as Queen very seriously. She sees it as her duty to guide them down the path that is best for them, even if it is one they do not want to follow.

Ghillain is overly serious. She has a hard time relaxing and thus tends to overwork herself and those around her. She has little tolerance for insubordination and can be overly harsh when passing judgement.
