Session 3: Expedition to the Howling Plains Report
General Summary
The team finds themselves in the company of an eccentric lush, Professor Jean Marchalle, and a bright-spirited bard, Sylva Snow, as they delve into the Howling Plains in search of the ruins of an ancient civilization. Their path will take them through dangerous territory controlled by the roaming Orcish clans. Before reaching their final destination, they are set to visit two other ruins on the way. On their journey, the clever wiles and attentive eye of Seraphina steers them from danger. When they encounter a tribe of Goblins, Ode, with a little quick thinking and luck, convinces the Goblins that he is a God. Awed by his power, they let the party pass in peace. At last, the party reaches the outskirts of the first ruin. The remains of the once proud building are protected by mystical wards, determined to be a version of Protection from Chaos. The heroes camp for the night and that evening, each is visited by an eerie dream in which a giant serpent promises them truth if only they follow it. All but Seraphina answer the creature's call, and each are shown visions - some more clear than others - about how they may attain their goals.
