Inveris

Beyond the mists of Suspiria, the Dismal Mansions take on some kind of form, but in the shadowed halls of Inveris that form is not very solid. The realm is a maze of buildings and ruins from across the history of Aiaos, but some stand at a slope and other lie on their sides, and few of them are anywhere close to whole. Pale light filters from the mists, casting deep shadows, and in these shadows the substance of the realm gives way to plummeting nothingness.
Around the Pillar Vigilant, a rough but purposeful accumulation of architecture contains the lorehouse of the Perilous Athenaeum, while in the deepest shadows the Tenebrous Womb births horrors out of nightmare. The shadowed halls are also home to the palace of Stygis the Fearmonger, a structure that fell in flames whole-cloth with the collapse of the Great Ophionic Empire.
