Suspiria

At the bottom of the chasm Escharon, the cataract of the Styx plunges into the impossible depths of Lake Stryge. Although the wider surface of the lake's black waters barely shiver, the roiling plunge pool sends up a chill, shifting mist which fills the realm of Suspiria. This mist distorts all sense of space and distance, and conceals to some extent the fact that space and distance themselves are uncertain qualities this far down into the The Abyss. As a traveller moves through them, the mists part to reveal ragged ground or gaping crevasses, before closing in behind them and swallowing the path they have trod before.
Deep within this realm, the folding mists crystallise into the recursive, befuddling corridors of the Eternal Labyrinth. Elsewhere, the palor of the mist becomes tinged with green, as the contagion of the Pit of the Sombre Maw breathes into it.
