Nome of the Deeping Damps

The southern end of the glacial valleys south of the Skystone Peaks open out into the broad river basins of the great rain forest. Beyond the domain of the Stone Valleys and the Skyward Ridge, the jungles were home to the Smoothfolk; fierce tribes of bullywugs, in tribute to the grung kingdom of Deeping Damp.
It was diplomats from Skyward Ridge who led the first successful missions to the city of Kreekilip and made contact with the proud leaders of the Kilip Dynasty. For generations, the bullywug tribes, for all their crudeness, had kept intruders sufficiently at bay that the existence of this great and ordered civilisation came as a huge surprise to all. It was soon seen that an alliance with the smoothfolk would be greatly valuable, and the entry of Deeping Damp into the Federation was negotiated over the course of ten years, ending in the signing of a treaty in CY8.8.
The Kai-kilip, king of the grung, is the nomarch of Deeping Damp, which remains divided between the civilised grung of the three cities – Kreekilip, Kreepipli and Kreetiklip – and the outlands where the bullywug tribes form a defensive ring around the heartland. The electors of the nome are the ur-Shaman of the Kakai-kilip – the deified founder of the line – the ur-Shaman of Irikkipi – spirit of the jungle – the Kai-kilip’s heir apparent, the chancellor and chamberlain of the court of Kreekilip, and the Rokarokao – chief of chiefs – and Koriki – war champion – of the bullywug tribes.
