Nuvian Sarven (M) - head of the clergies - is found to be corrupted.

Since the rise of Vhaeraun the Head of the clergies had been tucked away, concealing his actions for many years. This brought suspicion and rumor to his doorstep many times until finally he was unearthed as a worshiper of Vhaeraun. He had been corrupted and his arcane ways focused more of the shadow weave and the necromantic magiks. Sarven had found a love and a focus on the 'un-death' and had been utilizing his abilities and position in the theocracy to maintain his life-force for as long as he could. This lead him down a dark path of deceit and deception concluding with him making a deal with the evil deity. Sarven had been slowly turning himself into a Lich.   There is an intense arcane battle within Nilanalume, resulting in the destruction of Sarven's mortal body and the trapping of his soul within a ruby. This ruby known as the "Gem of the Liched Cleric" was transported to Nilanalume Keep where it is to this day kept in the Anti magic chamber so as to keep the reforming of Nuvian Sarven's mortal body from returning.
