Agony's Delusion

Most people have heard whispers of Agony's Delusion. People who yet live after being touched by a creature of The Daemonium. While they live they are not the same as they once were, only fragments. The longer their soul was pushed aside the worse their condition becomes. It happens in stages first the ears elongate, then horns begin to start sprouting from their heads, and lastly, wings rip open from their backs.  The wings are the final sign that the body won't hold the creature much longer. Depending on when the creature leaves determines the state of the body and the mind. The soul was not designed to be pushed aside it comes back differently. The mind and soul disharmonized unstable and broken. After such an event the body breaks down on its own, for one who had only elongated ears it happens slowly over a lifetime, for one who had wings and all it's much faster over a year or so.

Causes

A person can only get Agony's Delusion if they were inhabited by The Daemonium and the creature left before the body evaporated.

Symptoms

Physical symptoms happen in stages first the ears elongate, then horns begin to start sprouting from their heads, and lastly, wings rip open from their backs. The wings are the final sign that the body won't hold the creature much longer. Once the creature no longer inhabits the body the mental symptoms begin to take place, the less time the creature spent in the body the more coherent the person is after the event. Someone with only elongated ears may have the occasional hallucination and hear slight whispers, but one who has wings will see reality completely differently and will hardly make sense when talking.

Treatment

There is no cure for Agony's Delusion the most that can be done is to soothe some of the chronic pain that comes with the body deteriorating over time.

History

Right now in Akara anyone having Agony's Delusion is unheard of as the The Daemonium have been sealed away. However, before The Battle of Sealing it was quiet common.

Cultural Reception

Anyone who had Agony's Delusion was ostracised by the society at large, most people couldn't be sure that The Daemonium creature had left them, and most did not want to associate with those who had been creature touched anyway.
