Calphia Island

Calphia Island is the southern most island in the Belt of islands in-between Asteria and Maedoria. It is home to two volcanos, the Black Peak Summit and Mount Stasis. As the name suggest Mount Stasis rarely erupts, it is Black Peak Summit that worries most people, it erupts every couple years as if on a cycle. The two volcanos make it quite an inhospitable island, however that doesn’t stop people, Calphians, from living in the valley between the peaks. The Ash Glen is a small town in the center of the island, inhabited by the Calphian people who have made the Island their home, despite the living conditions.

Geography

The two volcanos on opposite ends of the island create a narrow valley called the Ash Glen.

Fauna & Flora

The Calphia Island is also home to the Ashen Blackhaw flower known for being warm to the touch when picked and burning people from the inside out if consumed.

Natural Resources

Because of the consistent eruption every 5 or so years the island has unique access to large amounts of obsidian and uses it as one of its main exports along with the Ashen Blackhaw which is found only on the island.

History

The Calphia Island has long been idolized for its fascinating history, it is said that the gods first broke through that veil into Akara on the Island, and that the first battle in war against The Daemonium took place there.

Tourism

There are many who are scared to travel the Calphia Island because of the eruptions of the Black Peak Summit. However during the years between its explosions the Ash Glen does get a handful of adventurous visitors wanting to see the fiery apexes up close. So mountain climbing has become a fast tourist activity.
