Shahmaran
Another people that descend from Azhdaha, or the great dragons, are the Shahmaran, who are a serpentine people. The Shahmaran are a people transformed. Organizaed in a theocratic sociaety that worships the goddess Dendar , the Shahmaran undertake rituals of transformation to become more and more serpent like, with those most transformed ruling over those who are less transformed, with all Shahmaran being inherently superior to any non-transformed beings.
They once saught to rule all of Alam, and succeeded in manifesting Dendar into the world to swallow the sun, before she was imprisoned in the upper levels of Duzak - Hell by Maleke Khala and the elves of Parsa.
Today Shahmaran society is much reduced, their only known city, Omu, but a ruin of its former glory. Many Shahmaran continue to hold to their vision of superiority and utilize their powers of suggestion and transformation to infiltrate other societies and operate as spies. Many Shahmaran are now in the service of Dragon's Reach and Mazandaran .
