Zoldar Han

Zoldar Han is recorded in Anario's list as one of the greatest wizards in living memory. The marks he left on the land have become places of world class renown. His university is one of only seven accredited universities in matters of magic. He has left behind a collection of other magical areas, but it is suspected many places remain unfound. He lived some time around 355 - 300 AW and was seen as one of the last few masters of Endomic. His tomb can be viewed on his university campus, entombed below the main fountain.

The Horrors

Zoldar Han was obsessed during his liftime with the creation of a new race. In this pursuit, he failed. Scholars regard his creations as abominations and they have widely recieved the nickname "The Horrors".

The first of these creatures is the Maumet. The Maumet is a humanoid creature standing nearly 10 feet tall in its natural form. Notably, the creature posesses the ability to shapeshift into nearly any form. This has resulted in making it almost impossible to kill. Whenever it is spotted, it is seen in areas of powerful magic. Many brave warriors have sought out to defeat the Maumet, never to return. Ironically, despite this being Zoldar's first creation, it was the one that killed him as he slept.

The second creature is the Intruder. Of these creatures, there are a small handful. Scholars estimate that there are three at minumum, and no more than six. The Intruders are infamous for their aptitude for entering the minds of their victims. Once their target is wounded they move in for the kill. It is rumored the creatures could be controlled using an amulet. They can be compelled to duel a target, and will set free from control at the end of their duel. Only one has ever been recorded to duel and it occured when Zoldar sent one to kill the wizard Namian. The creatures themselves appear as matte black humanoid creatures who move with slender elegance bearing dual sabres of an unknown make. In the year 93 AG the explorer Horus, the Redeyed set out for the Luminarium. The Luminarium was the private library of Zoldar and he imprisoned an Intruder around the grounds of the library to try and protect the library in the shadow of a looming conflict with another unnamed wizard. It is the only known location of an Intruder. Horus, the Redeyed never made it to the library. Corroborated accounts suggest that he only got to see the library building before he was set upon.

The Sentinel was his third and final creation. It isn't regarded in the same level of fear as the other creations are. Being his final creation, Zoldar had learned much about instilling the qualities we find desireable. Most importantly, whereas he had designed the previous creations to possess true intelligence, this creation had no such features. The Sentinel was created to stand guard on the university campus, and it currently stands utop the main fountain. The Sentinel is clad entirely in stone, though it is able to move. It has been created only to move in the defense of the university. Only once has it performed this duty. In the year 100 AW the ambitious wizard, Zaras sought to subjugate the students. The Sentinel stepped forward from his pedestal and now Zaras too is entombed on the campus.

Death

Thankfully students were able to recover Zoldar's writings and journals following his demise. This has granted scholars a unique insight into the nature of the creatures Zoldar created. Noted in Anario's Biography of Zoldar Han and his Reign, explorers should be careful near unexplored ruins of his creation. Zoldar was a notorious trickster and had a habit for trapping certain parts of buildings.
