Spellcasting. Bovrik is a 14th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). He regains his expended spell slots when he finishes a short or long rest. He knows the following warlock spells:
- Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, friends, mage hand, minor illusion.
- 1st-5th level (Three 5th-level slots): hex, hold person, misty step, suggestion, blink, counterspell, dispel magic, banishment, dimension door, shadow of moil, mislead, scrying.
- 1/Day each: slow, scatter, crown of stars.
Relentless Endurance. When Bovrik is reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. He can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest. Savage Attacks. When Bovrik scores a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, he can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit. Gruumsh's Devotee (4/Day). Once per turn, when he hits a creature with a weapon attack, Bovrik can deal an extra 1D6 damage of the weapon's damage type to the target. Gruumsh's Votary (1/Day). Bovrik has advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks. In addition, when he fails a Constitution check or Constitution saving throw, he can reroll the dice and must use the new roll. Hex Warrior. Whenever Bovrik finishes a long rest, he can touch one weapon that he is proficient with and that lacks the two-handed property. When he attacks with that weapon, he can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. This benefit lasts until he finishes a long rest. Accursed Specter (1/Day). When Bovrik slays a humanoid, he can cause its spirit to rise from its corpse as a specter. When the specter appears, it gains 7 temporary hit points. Roll initiative for the specter, which has its own turns. It obeys Bovrik's verbal commands, and it gains a +4 bonus to its attack rolls. The specter remains in his service until the end of his next long rest, at which point it vanishes to the afterlife. Armor of Hexes. If the target cursed by Bovrik's Hexblade’s Curse hits you with an attack roll, he can use his reaction to roll a d6. On a 4 or higher, the attack instead misses, regardless of its roll. Pact of the Blade. Bovrik can use his action to summon Cauteriser to his hand. It disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from him for 1 minute or if he dismisses it (no action required). Eldritch Mind. Bovrik has advantage on Constitution saving throws that he makes to maintain his concentration on a spell. Master of Hexes. When the creature cursed by Bovrik's Hexblade's Curse dies, he can apply the curse to a different creature he can see within 30 feet of him, provided he isn't incapacitated. When he applies the curse in this way, he doesn't regain hit points from the death of the previously cursed creature. Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Bovrik fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Actions
Multiattack. Bovrik makes three Eldritch Blast attacks. Cauteriser. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit: 1D6+4 slashing damage (+8 with Hexblade's Curse) plus 4 necrotic damage and 2D6 fire damage. Eldritch Blast. Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, reach 120ft., one target. Hit: 1D10 force damage (+4 with Hexblade's Curse) and the target's movement is reduced by 10ft. until the end of Bovrik's next turn. BONUS ACTIONS Gruumsh's Disciple (1/Day). Bovrik calls on Gruumsh's blessing. For 1 minute or until he is incapacitated, creatures within 30 feet of Bovrik can't gain advantage on attack rolls against him. Cauteriser. Bovrik speaks this magic sword's command word, causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2D6 fire damage to any target it hits (already applied). The flames last until he uses a bonus action to speak the command word again or until he drops or sheathes the sword. Hexblade's Curse (1/short rest). As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target is cursed for 1 minute. The curse ends early if the target dies, Bovrik dies, or if Bovrik is incapacitated. Until the curse ends, Bovrik gains the following benefits:
- Bovrik gains a +4 bonus to damage rolls against the cursed target.
- Any attack roll Bovrik makes against the cursed target is a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.
- If the cursed target dies, Bovrik regains 17 hit points.
