The Steel Brotherhood
Structure
Professional - Well-Seasoned Mercenary
Veteran - Seasoned Mercenary
Sell Sword - Guild Mercenary.
Conscript - New Recruit.
Guild member move up through the ranks base on the number of successful contractions they complete.
The guild has bases in all major cities besides Easthaven. These are small as the mercenaries are contacted magically and do not need to be present at the guild all the time.
Mercenaries register their details at the guild and will be contacted by a sending spell when a contract becomes available. The Guild takes a cut of any earnings the mercenaries make from this.
Each of the bases has a small staff consisting of: a registrar, a guild mage, a treasurer and a city leader who watch over and run the guild in that area. professional and veteran mercenaries may take up residence at the base in order to get first pick at the contacts.
The identity of the guild leader is unknow and each city operates independently.
Public Agenda
The guild is acts as a middle-man between it's network of mercenaries and those looking to purchase their services.
Assets
The guild appears to have very few assets, their bases appearing as little more than taverns, however the guild masters are very wealthy. The largest base, and unofficial headquarters, is located in Newport.
History
The guild was formed as an off-shoot of The Knights of Valor. Some of their members believed their skills should be payed for, however this was against the guild's main principles. The Brotherhood was later formed in Newport as the debate escallated and many members of the Knights of Valor left to join. These days, the guild functions well in it's own right, but there is still tension between them and the Knights.
