Daghda Descescu
The Fallen Star Daghda Descescu Fuil na Réaltaí (a.k.a. The Fallen Star, D. D.)
The only child of Deminatural scholar and Memoriam Inanimatam darling Demordeus Descescu and La Lumière du Devin (Common trans. Soothsayer's Light), Liesma of House Fuil na Réaltaí. Liesma gave birth to Daghda in the remote reaches of Foraoise de Venin, over which she has presided as the since before the realm of Anima was given a name. Daghda's remote upbringing away from the Realtai can be attributed to the death of her father following his exposure to the Sleeping Sickness of Aisling Milis during its initial onset in 10.434 GS/LM. Due to the Sleeping Sickness' pervasive onset and the realization of Anima on the eve of war, Daghda was raised by her mother and in the care of House Venin in Le Venin.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
- Daghda's Realtai heritage is quite strong and as such, she's inherited her mother's vedere de stele (Common trans. "Starsight"). Daghda is what is known amongst the people of Venin and The Mantle as stea-orb or aveugle (Common trans. "Starblind) - when at rest her eyes are pupilless and instead, her scleras are a pure, whirling galaxy. Notably, when casting her eyes glow and constellations can be seen forming and glowing where her pupils might otherwise be.
Special abilities
Having been gifted/acquired Demordeus' research tomes and personal journals in tandem with studying alongside her mother, Dagha is an accomplished rătăcitor - her unique form of casting utilizes the ancient Venic cântec rătăcitor (Common trans. "Ranging song") used to herd the wild, feral creatures of Anima back to Foraoise de Venin. Her preternatural abilities include but are by no means limited to:
- divination/foresight
- necromancy
- rătăcire
Apparel & Accessories
Rather than a signet ring to represent her rightful place as an estranged princess of House Fuil na Réaltaí, Dagha wears a Mererid nail ring with a .25 carat amaranthine star set in it on her ring finger. This heirloom from the royal family's Soothsayer's Light collection has come to be known as the The Light Inevitable.
Mental characteristics
Mental Trauma
Dagdha was born at the onset of the Magner Conflicts and, due to the greatly extended lifespan inherent to Deminatural children, grew up in a world at war. The ripple effects of battle could be felt even in the relative privacy of Le Venin, and there is no doubt that the decades of violence and uncertainty have taken their toll on the bright young enchantress, who undoubtedly takes after her father Demordeus with regard to her sharp intellect and high capability for insight. Compounded by the loss of that father, a legend in his own field claimed far too soon, Daghda has grown deeply embittered with the concept of war and has fixated on the idea that if she could unite the realms as one and restore rights to Deminaturals disproportionately affected by stigma following the reign of Magner Mallact, she could lead Anima and Albion into a new Age of Enchantment. She is the one to bring the world together. This is how she'll honor - and ultimately surpass - her father's legacy. This is how she'll step out of the light of the Soothsayer's Star and become something truly unique to the world.
Having been deprived of a life with a father despite growing up adjacent to a provincial life under a patriarch, she's built her father into a godlike figure and considers herself the heir to his legacy. Crucially, she blames the ongoing dispute between Anima and Mortelle and its treatment of Mortelle like Magner Mallact for the death of her father.
