Le Pèlerinage

Le Pèlerinage du Lumieres Mortes (or, Le Pèlerinage, The Pilgrimage), refers to the Cridhean ideal that those Inmortui and Animortui (and all subsequent variegations of the lost souls of the dead of both Albion and Anima not herein listed) who have been administered Cridhe's Kiss of Second Life are then magically and morally obligated to spend that second life in search of their soul's true purpose - when a lost soul believes they have achieved this, their pilgrimage ends in a trip to the Offing of Lumieres Morte: if they have, in fact, succeeded, Cridhe Loch Fae meets them at the edge of the Offing to offer them the choice: a true resurrection and restoration to life or passage aboard the spectral Noyade An Bhrídeog ("The Drowned Bride,") to the its other side, whose boundaries have never been fully charted or explored. Those that accept resurrection are kissed on their remaining cheek by Cridhe and ascend to a god-like state intended to facilitate the carrying out of their purpose, becoming known as Les Pélerines.

The Drowned Bride is captained by successful Pélerines Comadóir Quelveneck Quelevent Serous and lady wife/first mate for whom the vessel is named, Capitaine Lemesre Silouane-Serous (also Lemesre Silouane, Noyade An Bhrídeog, Lemesre the Drowning), founders of House Serous.

History

Since approximate 1 Catasach, 1 EG/LL the Descendents of Cridhe's Kiss located in Avalon and Broceliande have recognized the time of Alamort. During this time, adults and children alike build poppets and effigies of Cridhe, kiss them, and then take them to the Offing of Lumieres Mortes to be burnt as an effigy or tied to a stone and drowned in memory of the Uxores Mortis and all Anima who were tried as witches in the mortal world
