King Arthur Pendragon of Camelot in the land of Albion is slain in battle by his own son, Mordred of Orkney. The King is rushed to Avalon and the care of half-sister Morgana Le Fay, but perishes shortly after. For a year and a day the kingdom of Camelot is in mourning, and on the final day Queen Guinevere ascends the throne.
