Hospitilars

Hospitilars are a devoted order dedicated to the elimination of suffering in the world. Hospitilars are responsible for the major healing centers that have been established in many cities throughout the free lands of Alcirya. The founding prophet of the Hospitilars was known to take long journeys during which he would administer miracles to local peoples - healing of the sick, wounded, and mentally unstable.

During this era, the Hospitilars have made it their mission to alleviate the suffering in the world. In the name of Balera, they sought out all illness and pain and remove it. They built (and continue to build) great centers of healing and actively oppose the schemes of Vingaarites bent on bringing pain into the world. Ultimately, Hospitilars believe that if their faith is strong enough they can cure the world of its ills.

Do not, however, mistake these priests as pacifists. As much as they disdain suffering, they recognize that elimination of the scourge that brings pain into the world is of utmost importance. Hospitilars will fight, if necessary, but they will never condone allowing the enemy to suffer. If an enemy is to be engaged in a physical conflict by a Hospitilar they believe it is important to end their life so their souls may be healed in the afterlife. Hospitilars have made it their mission to accompany the Knights Xanthic and Templar in all their endeavors, seeking to ease the suffering of Balera’s soldiers as they fight to defend the ideals of Palanos.

Finally, Hospitilars will never turn away a patient in need of healing, no matter how mortal the enemy.
