Cota Ocean

The Cota Ocean sits west of Ethae, and east of Dergonhad. It is dotted with many islands and is the primary 'highway' for travel and trade between Ethae and Dergonhad.

Of the oceans of Aldern, Cota has long been the most stable and navigable. Its warm weather and many islands keep the oceans calm and give travelers many stopping points. Storms are common, but mild. Sea life is abundant and often seen swimming around ships by the sailors as they cross the waters.

A phenomenon known as the Aurora Iridis appears over the Cota during the spring and autumn months, creating a belt across the sky. A long-standing navigational tool for those traveling the ocean as it can be seen for several hundred miles and runs along Alderns equator.
