Ediia (ED ee ah)
the Tongue of the Lake Folk
Ediia is the native language of the Falbiten people of Lake Bemused in northern Jerain. Similar to its cousin Ioodiia in the Cutting Mountains, it is rooted in an ancient lost language. Very few outside the region have learned the langauge, though this is increasing as more people learn of the natural recourses the lake provides for traders in the Magic and culinary arts. The language has no written equivalent before the Novyum Age and contact with the outside world, when they partially adopted the Capedian Alphabet for use in trade. The language is vowel heavy, with every word ending in a vowel, and every consonant must be followed by a vowel.
