Ioodiia

the Tongue of the Mountain Folk

Ioodiia is the native langauge of the Human dwelling throughout the Cutting Mountains. It is rooted in an ancient forgetting tongue that is connected to Ediia of the Falbiten people south of the mountains on Lake Bemused. While the two share a similar root, they have diverged greatly over the ages. Ioodiia is heavily influenced by Dwarvish of the Dwarf people of the mountains.

Like so many of the old cultural language of history, Ioodiia is slowly fading way with time. The mountain people are finding it better to let their children learn the Common Tongue as contact with the traders traveling through Iootra valley grows. The independent mountain folk, however, are fighting change every step of the way.
