Episcopus Council

Northern Council of Cardinalis

The Episcopus Council is a gathering of the twelve Cardinalis. A group of women that council the Ponti of the northern division of the Church. The role is strictly as advisors to the Ponti with no authority in the Church's hierarchy to command. Though, the role as advisor to the most powerful person on the continent does gain them much unofficial political and social power and influence.

The members of this council are hand-picked from the female clergy of the Church by the Ponti and serve in the role for life. Whenever a seat is vacated by the passing of the cardinalis the current Ponti will appoint a new member into that role. While on paper this is done through prayer and divine insight, the truth is this is often done through political intrigue and personal favors granted by powerful women of the Church.
