Ponti
Leader of the Northern Trijan
The Ponti ('Pontiess' if female) is the absolute ruler of Northern Trijan Church, the northern division of the monotheistic Trijan religion known as the Church. While it is a genderless role on paper, it can be counted on one hand the women who have held the title through the ages. Referred to also as the 'Bishop of Lakorth', the Ponti is based out of the city of Lakorth and is aided in his leadership by his Episcopus Council. To the faithful of the Church, the Ponti is second only to God (Alu) in authority. This has led to the Ponti, and by extension the Church, holding vast political power through the ages, as the many see this authority as greater than that of kings.
The Ponti traditionally wears white loose fitting inner robe, with an outer cloak or open robe of various colors and patterns, depending on the season. Upon election to the Title the Ponti if granted the Talisman of Antyok. An extremely powerful artifact that makes grants the Ponti magical protection.
By ecclesiastic law a ponti must be of the human race.
