Jarl Utval is a monstrous entity dwelling on the continent Arkato at the south pole of the world of Aldern. A ancient and powerful entity, he rules over the Frost Giants with a merciless iron grip. His throne room in adorned with several hundred skulls of challengers to his reign over the centuries.

The frost giants consider Utval as a godlike being, the father of them all. Both could very well be true. Utval is near a thousand years old and has participated in many Mirkill Veird over those years. Nearly every giant of the continent could have some blood connection to him.

According to the giant's accounts, weapons shatter as if made of brittle glass when connect with Utval's skin. He can call storms to cover the entire continent and move even the biggest icebergs with a thought. His strength is so great that he has killed frost giant warriors with a single blow of his fists. He drinks the lifeforce of his slain challenger and grows taller with each consumption. There are even tales of his ability to appear anywhere on Arkato instantly. He is truly the master of his domain.
