Long Horn Bison

Jerain Bison

Long horn bison, often just bison, long horns, or Jerain bison, is a large species of bison that is native to northern Jerain. These herbivores live in small family groups, grazing the the plains and forests south of the Cutting Mountains. There are records of them dwelling as far south as the Brimland and the thick forests and jungles south of Lake Bemused.

The bison were hunted in the prehistoric periods by the natives of the region around the great lake, with some evidence of ancient domestication. In the modern day, the northern bison roam the savannahs and plains in their small herds, largely free of predators. This is due to the size and group effort of defense the beasts have shown capable of. The bison further south in or near the forests have to contend with the green Dragon that sometimes leave their forest to hunt the big animals for food or sport.
