the Alanspace Nebula

The Sea of Creation is a bluish luminescent cloud of cosmic dust on the southern pole of the Crystal Sphere in Alanspace. It’s slow clockwise rotation often creates a whirlpool effect at its center. The stars inside drift with the tides of the nebula’s winds.

Though primarily inside, the nebula exists on both sides of the sphere wall, with thousands of miles along its outside surfaces covered in the nebula clouds. It is through this nebula that one can exit and enter the Alanspace sphere. Little is known how this travel is conducted, there appears to be no opening in the shell itself. Any traveler brave enough to journey through the thick clouds may find themselves emerging from the nebula in the Phlogiston outside Alan, or may simply not, with no understood pattern or reason.

Game Note: The nature of the Anon (magic) in Alan causes a Spelljammer to most of its power inside the Alanspace crystal sphere, only being functional in Aldern's atmosphere. While the 'pilot' retains the ability to steer, all porpulsion abilities of the Helm no longer fuction, a special 'Solar Sail' are needed on ships to move it through Alanspace.
