McMurdo Base

McMurdo Base is a new duty station that the USCMC has started initial stand up procedures, in conjunction with the Drassia Union, onboard Empok Station to provide protection for its denises and expand operations within the sector and beyond. It is built within a conjoined section of the Shipping module and Space Flight Terminal, as the spaces there are extremely large and modular, much like a warehouse space, allowing for full customization and plenty of space across multiple decks to work within.
While this is a formal USCMC duty station, and thus falls under the United Americas, the base is still owned and administered by the Drassia Union. As such the UA has limited powers here, technically, especially considering the location of this base. However they maintain all military control of the base, personel, and assests. This also means they, at the end of the day, are loyal to tthe UA and its interest.

McMurdo reports directly to Colonel Emma Roya of the 1354th "ORKS" MAU.
The station is currently overseen by Capt. Giaus Landry.

The base is supported by the USCMC, with additional support from the Drassia Union.

Infrastructure

This duty station is still under construction, and is set to be completed by the middle of next year, faster if Colonel Roya has any say in it. Currently it has 1/4 of it's designated barracks built, the main armory with a small training facility, mess hall, medical station, and a command center.
The base was designed to support nearly 300 personel in total, and will also house a fabrication unit, a planet side training facility, science lab, and a deep space communication relay hub.

History

McMurdo base was established after the Drassia Union contracted with the USCMC for formal protection services in the area. Formally it was from pirates or any other ne'er do well. Informally it was from some of the other companies that they had upset with their operations. This came at a key time when the Great Mother Mission is under way and the USCMC could use this as a way to expand furhter in the middle heavens, let alone to the Far Spinward Colonies to help re-establish control in that area.
