Session 1: Capturing Bandits
General Summary
For one reason or another everyone has separately found themselves in Azuros in Bilberry's Adventurers Guild. There seems to be a flurry of activity in the guild, a bunch of people are waiting for the guild master.
Colqurt the Frumpish,Hilda, and Fraijae find themselves sitting next to each other and started up a conversation.
Morhek Fellhand found himself at the bar, he pulled out his own mug and asked the bartender to fill it.
A loud booming voice asks everyone to gather around, its Albin, a gnome, the owner of the guild. He says, "Welcome all, glad to see some new and familiar faces. I just wanted to announce that we have a big job given to us from the city of Azuros itself. The city has tasked us with rooting out a bandit problem. Each of you will be assigned a specific task to complete this job. My servant here will divvy out the tasks. The faster you get this done, the better the pay."
The Captain Kenren starts calling out party names and assigns them tasks. He looks at Hilda, Colqurt, Morhek, and Fraijae. He remarks that they are new here and asked the party to find any sort of low level bandits and bring them back for interrogating. Colqurt asks about any information to help our heroes, the Captain Kenren says the bandits have been patrolling a merchant road. He says that the bandits have been attacking merchant caravans and the guild will provide goods so that our heroes can pose as merchants.
Our heroes move to a table to discuss their plan. Morhek introduces himself to the rest of the party. Our heroes decide that they will pose as merchants and will head off this evening. Colqurt writes down a list of items our heroes will need and delivers it to the requisition officer. Fraijae names our heroe's adventuring party Fraijae's Band of Merry Adventuring Fellows. Colqurt learns that bandits often ambush merchants using fast wolf riders. They catch your attention and then surround you.
Later in the afternoon, our heroes head out to the Merchant's road with their merchant cart and two mules. Our heroes travel for a couple hours when eventually three goblin warriors appear. Colqurt tries to persuade one to come with our heroes instead of rob them. They are not convinced and so they attack our heroes.
Morhek went into a rage. Hilda ran closer to a Goblin Warrior and threw a fire bomb, she missed, but he still took some splash damage. The goblin warrior shot Hilda twice with a short bow and did a bit of damage and then retreated. Fraijae moved closer to one of the goblin warriors and hit him with a divine lance, he falls over dead. Colqurt keyed in on the remaining goblin warrior, quickly devised a strategy, and missed with his longbow. Two more goblin warriors on wolves appeared out of the trees. The first came up and tried to hit Colqurt, the second hit Hilda. A goblin warrior aimed at Morhek and missed, he pulled out his shield. Morhek ran to the hobgoblin and hit him with his longsword, twice, and died. Hilda hit the goblin on a wolf, he fell off, she then threw a bomb at another goblin but missed. He then ran away. Fraijae ran to the goblin Colqurt was fighting, but her attack missed. Colqurt devised a strategy and did non-lethal damage to the goblin rider. The dead riders wolf bit Colqurt, the other rider less wolf attacked Morhek. Moehek tried to hit the wolf, wounding it. One wolf remains. Fraijae uses her divine lance, wounding the wolf. Colqurt eyed the remaining wolf and hit him, knocking the wolf unconscious.
Our heroes tie up the unconscious goblin and throw him in a barrel. Our heroes arrive back into town and return the goblin to Captain Kenren. He pays our heroes 120 gold, a little extra for being fast about it.
