It was created in cooperation of all four Great Houses to setup a neutral port to increase trade efficiency with the civilizations of the mainland. With it's central location, and neutral stance in the region, each of the western sovereignties have sent delegations and created embassies in the city to help with diplomatic relations with the wealthy houses of the Gilded Isles. Over the last five years since it was founded, many from across all of Solaris and the Gilded Isles have flocked to Azuros in hopes of gaining their fortunes from many of the opportunities available in the region. To the south there are the many ruins of an ancient civilization for adventurers and archeologists to explore for riches and ancient secrets.

History
Azuros is a very young city of only five years. It was founded by the Great Houses of the Gilded Isles to be a neutral hub of trade to the mainland. With its position right outside the wilderness containing ruins of ancient civilization it grew very quickly as many flocked to seek their fortunes either through adventuring or setting up shop to sell goods to adventurers. The land where Azuros sits used to be a minor thorp where a few fishermen lived to provide a resupply point for ships traveling along the coast south. With the discovery of ruins from ancient civilizations in the wilderness directly south of the thorp, parties from all over Solaris came hoping to gain new land or riches. The Great Houses saw this as an opportunity to gain a foothold on the mainland of Solaris and collaborated together to fund an expedition of the land. With so many different parties gathered in a small community, and no resources to support all the new people, the Houses pivoted and decided to fill the role of providing a staging ground for adventurers to go explore the wilderness and used their funds to build Azuros.
The merchants brought with them many laborers from the Gilded Isles to help build the city from nothing to the booming trade hub it is today. With local leadership positions all being controlled by puppets of the Great Houses, rampant corruption began to become a problem and the labor force started to feel exploited as wages decreased, and many contracts were not fulfilled. Some labor leaders started to organize demonstrations and protest work needed from their merchant employers. This resulted in retaliation from the corrupt guard who jailed or beat the labor leaders attempting to quell the dissent. The city was on the verge of chaos and riots when a local charlatan, Ander Goodbarrel, rose up and mediated between the two parties. He was able to convince the merchants that cooperating with the laborers would be more profitable and was able to replace the corrupt officials with leaders picked by both the laborers and the merchants. The laymen hailed Ander as a hero and named a neighborhood of the city after him, and insisted he take a seat on the newly formed city council to protect their interests.
