Council of Nobles
Like the other bureaux of the Imperial Parliament, the Council of Nobles plays a dual role. In addition to their constitutional duties in the Parliament, the Council acts as an intra-House mediator and de facto Foreign Office of the state. It trains and dispatches ambassadors at Parliamentary direction. It also receives embassies from foreign polities.
The Council is also responsible for foreign and domestic intelligence gathering services. This has caused some wags to make cynical observations regarding the moral clarity of the Imperial nobility. Regardless, these efforts have paid substantial dividends regarding the outside world, leaders and power structures, military assets, and defenses.
