The Geography of Alkun

Physical Features of the Known World

There are many beliefs regarding the nature of the world - is it something created by the gods, a great dragon's egg, a flat plate with edges? - but the existence of features of the world are beyond question. Therefore, the nature of Alkun is considered a metaphysical question. This article will concentrate on the physical geography and features.

For the sake of simplicity we will assume two tiers of geography. The top tier is the region, a generally broad area representing similar geological structure. The basic examples on the map might include the Central Plateau and Wyvern Basin. Each region contains several features, such as rivers, hills, forests, and so on. These features constitute the second tier. Hopefully this arrangement will simplify presentation.
