Tor Lands
Independent Imperial Colony-State
The Tor Lands (sometimes called the Torlands, or simply Tor) comprise the oldest and best-established coloney of the Elurian Empire on the Mainland, having been settled in the second century of the Fourth Age. In its simplest form, it can be described as a loose alliances of city-states, in that it lacks a central authority, and yet remains cohesive.
The polity of Tor has settled in the region of Tor Bay in the easternmost reaches of the Tor Coastal Plain in south-central Mainland. It is secluded by the semicircle of the Tor Mountains, which are tall and wild enough to support numerous glaciers. These, in turn, have provided rich glacial soils in the lowlands and whose runoff keep the lands well-irrigated. These have made the Tor Lands fertile farmlands.
