Demogorgon (DEE-mo-gor-gun)
Aameul and Hathradiah (a.k.a. The Prince of Demons, The Deep Father, Imprisoned One, Master of the Spiraling Depths)
Prince of Demons, the Sibilant Beast, and Master of the Spiraling Depths, Demogorgon is the embodiment of chaos, madness, and destruction, seeking to corrupt all that is good and undermine order in the multiverse, to see everything dragged howling into the infinite depths of Shavarath - The Battleground. His self-proclaimed title of Prince of Demons was won by virtue of power and influence; many demons challenged it, but none could defeat Demogorgon and claim it.
The demon lord is a meld of different forms, with a saurian lower body and clawed, webbed feet, as well as suckered tentacles sprouting from the shoulders of a great apelike torso, surmounted by two hideous simian heads, named Aameul and Hathradiah, both equally mad. Their gaze brings madness and confusion to any who confront it.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
His symbol was that of a forked tail, often wrapped around a skull or sword.
Physical Description
Special abilities
Demogorgon makes his lair in a palace called Abysm, found on a layer of Shavarath known as the Gaping Maw. Demogorgon's lair is a place of madness and duality; the portion of the palace that lies above water takes the form of two serpentine towers, each crowned by a skull-shaped minaret. There, Demogorgon's heads contemplate the mysteries of the arcane while arguing about how best to obliterate their rivals. The bulk of this palace extends deep underwater, in chill and darkened caverns.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Others maintain that he was originally a primordial, in fact, the first to set foot in Shavarath after the plane was formed. He fought for control of the realm, but the obyrith Obox-ob attempted to become Prince of Demons seizing Shavarath for itself.
In the ensuing battle, Demogorgon is said to have been struck by the primordial Amoth, who split his head in two. Other legends say that Demogorgon rose from the ranks to drive off the Queen of Chaos, returning from an unspecified exile, forcing even Orcus and Grazzt to kneel and acknowledge his might.
Failures & Embarrassments
"If you want to have even a chance at stopping him, you need to distract him. That is Demogorgon's weakness. Each situation he faces brings two reactions, not one. And when faced with danger across multiple fronts, these reactions can paralyze him.” — Shami-Amourae
Mental Trauma
Each of Demogorgon's heads had its own name and personality, a duality that created an enduring internal conflict of his personality while shaping all his actions and even his realm. His left head was named Aameul while the right was named Hethradiah (sometimes referred to as Hathradiah). The two heads warred with each other, constantly seeking to obtain the upper hand on each other. Aameul, the more charismatic and calculating, relished deception and wished to break free from the other half. The more impulsive and feral Hethradiah relished destruction and did not wish to be separated.
