Doth Taerun
What was once a simple camp for construction workers and soldiers grew into the mighty city it is today. Doth Taerun was originally the northernmost Dothuri settlement until a few centuries ago when they declared their independence. The city is one mile away from the massive wall known as the Steel Stockade. In fact, every citizen is required to serve as a one of the Steel Wardens for at least a two year period during the first five years of becoming a full citizen or they lose their citizenship. Not all who live in the city are full citizens though. People are allowed to apply for a Citizen Pass. A Citizen Pass grants the bearer a partial citizenship which allows them to work and own property within the bounds of the city. Unfortunately, those that are not full citizens pay more taxes than those that have become citizens and served their time. Given the city's origin and the occupation of the majority of its citizens, the city is very militaristic and orderly. Unlike most cities, this one is split. Due to the threat of attacks from underground, the citizens of Doth Taerun built giant platforms that hold up sections of the city. The sections are connected by various bridges. As the city grew not all could afford to live on the platforms and so the Undercity and Uppercity were born. Undercity is home to the poorer citizens as well as the bulk of the Steel Wardens stationed at the city. In the Uppercity the wealthy, elite Steel Wardens and most of the middle class reside. Most of the markets, schools and government buildings are also located in the Uppercity. The Uppercity is roughly 200-300 feet tall and there are three different ways to get there. There are various lifts that transport people between levels for a fee, Staircase towers that are completely free and service ladders that are restricted to city workers but this is hardly enforced.
Demographics
Roughly 20% Gnome, 35% Human, 15% Dragonborn, 10% Warforged and 20% Misc. The majority of the population falls under the middle class. The second largest is the upper class and the smallest is the lower class.
Government
Leadership
The government of the city is lead by the Council of Steel, the three generals of the Steel Stockade and two representatives from the city that are voted upon by people with full citizenship and Citizen Passes.Citizenship
To become a full citizen of Doth Taerun you must fulfill four requirements:- Have owned or rented property in Doth Taerun
- Serve in the Steel Wardens for a minimum of two years.
- Have your full citizenship form endorsed by someone who is currently a full citizen
- Have a Citizen Pass for a minimum of three years

Defences
To defend against attacks from underground, the majority of the city sits on platforms held up by massive metal pillars. The pillars run roughly 170 feet underground and are magically enchanted to prevent against sabotage and the weather. The three types of ways to get from the Undercity to the Uppercity are either guarded or easily locked during an attacked. In the event that enemy forces do make it into the Uppercity, the bridges that connect it can be retracted into the platforms to slow down enemy crossing. The Undercity is also surrounded by a palisade with three gates near the three
Architecture
The bulk of the city is built out of metal. The designs of the majority of the buildings are simplistic and often painted whatever color the owner decides. Government and upper class buildings are often more artistically designed.
Geography
The city sits on a plain less than one mile away from the Steel Stockade. The city used to rely on wells and underground reservoirs for their water but one assault on the Stockade polluted the underground water beyond cleansing. Now the city relies on collecting rain and water traders.
Natural Resources
Despite being a plain the area is incredibly abundant in all sorts of metals. So much so that some believe the plain to be the site of a major ancient city. There are also several farms and ranches within the city's territory that provide it with food.
