Patan Pandilla

Written by Raveneye

Dewdrops peacefully lay on grassy knolls and lavender flora the moisture jitters with a marching pace. The droplets fall onto the morning soils of Jardin Detormenta. Scattered across the thundering landscape are granite and flagstones. Ornating the fields are two marching armies and a slew of airships in the covered skies. Two bloody axes and an orc skull flag gently move with the peaceful winds. Several airships fly overhead with those banners. Goblin archers and gnomish wizards are inching closer to the frontlines on the ships. Mounted bugbears on top of blood-thirsty worgs and fiendishly looking gnomes in their mechanical scorpions line the vanguards. Finally, a muscular thick half-orc holding two war axes and ominating a battle aura leads the infinitary filled with hobgoblins, humans, and half-orcs. Warlord Zynn leads the army of Patan Pandilla.   Across the other side of the battlefield, a fleet of aarakocra soars through the skies and passes over the frontline cavalry. There are rows of muscular light armor horses with long thick fur around their hooves. They have a mixture of militant lancers and arcane combatants as their riders. On one of the warhorses, a paladin of Helm stares at the coming army. He tightens the leather straps on his shield and raises his radiant hammer. A burst of holy energy surrounds the knight and signals his army to begin the onslaught.   The earth rumbles because the heavy cavalry started their charge towards one another. Each of the various vanguard units employs different tactics. The worg riders used the skill of their mounts to serpentine through the various rock croppings to avoid on-coming arrows. Just before the worg riders would meet the opposing military units, beads of orange erupted slightly behind them. An explosion of fire detonates, engulfing the worg riders. Bugbears eject out of their saddles. Even before the flung debris and wisps of fire dissipate, the mecha scorpions unleash a wave of rolling lightning onto their enemy.   The morning blue skies darken with conjuration of storms arcing with electrical energies. Unfortunately, that conjure energy strikes several airships. Aarakocra archers and sorcerers launch their attacks on the enemies. But, the gnome wizards and goblin archers begin their barrage. They exhibit combination attacks on aerial combatants. Two to three goblin archers would launch special arrows into a spaced-out area, as the gnome wizard would release a fireball between those arrows. The eruption of the evocation spell would cause the special ammo to explode with shrapnel and fire. The high-speed debris would shred the wings of the aarakocra causing them to fall.   Back on the ground, the battle continues to scorch and drench the field with warfare. Warlord Zynn, dual-wielding his war axes, cleaves any opponent that squares up against him. He is a raging half-orc blood-thirsty for someone worthy of his skills. Up till the glint of a radiant hammer catches his attention as it descends. He managed to protect his head from a possible lethal blow, but the smiting cleave smashed him in the shoulder, dislocating it. The grinning half-orc glances at his limp shoulder and back to the attacker. Looking through the visor, Zynn sees a seething blue-eyed paladin. The leader of the opposing army, Lord Damcis Continuar. Lord Continuar spins his steed to face Warlord Zynn and then begins his charge. He is squaring himself against the oncoming assault. Zynn thrusts his dislocated shoulder into the sternum of the charging horse. The impact pushes his shoulder back into his socket, and then he uses the momentum to suplex the steed. Lord Continuar managed to leap off his horse and recover to see the neck snap against the ground.   Their attacks are nearly impossible to track to everyone around the two combatants. For them, their battle appears to be a slow-motion chess match. Each blow is calculated and properly deflected. Even the attacks that Lord Continuar got past the guard of Warlord Zynn. The rabid half-orc ignored those strikes. His intense muscle fibers feel like solid steel. Unfortunately, Lord Continuar was not able to absorb those rampaging strikes. As a result, the single combat momentum switched to Warlord Zynn’s favor. The paladin of Helm was surprised to see the searing strikes coming from such a brutal leader. He was unaware of this holy ability, and this lack of knowledge would come to his doom. Those divine strikes with his ax would slice through the paladin’s shield and arm. Another strike would sink into his exposed neck, causing the leader.   After the fall of Lord Continuar, the aarakocra air regiment decided to flee. However, they gave Warlord Zynn’s air forces free rein to batter the remaining land forces. As a result, Lord Continuar’s forces began to retreat, and those unable to run surrendered.   Not long after the Battle of Jardin Detormenta, Warlord Zynn conquered the rest of Lord Continuar’s holdouts. He renamed the land to Patan Pandilla in honor of his loyal soldiers.

Religion

The nation of Patan Pandilla doesn't have many restrictions on the worshipping of various deities. The limits are the multiple cults that worship the demon lords and some of the devils in the nine hells. Other than those, the people can glorify any diety.

Major Deities

Maglubiyet - Domain of War & Order

He is the deity that created all the goblinoids. The legend mentions that Maglubiyet fought for six days and six nights against an elven god. The elven lord's blood sprayed off of his great ax, and the first goblinoids rose from that blood.   Warlord Zynn and Meister Sano Benedizione are devoted worshippers of the battle lord. In every military outpost and keep is a shrine for Maglubiyet, and no other religion is allowed to be displayed or worshipped within the walls. Maglubiyet is formally known as one of the gods of war, and the honoring of other deities in the halls of warfare is cause for death.
