Yule City

Yule City is the home of the Yule goats and the equivalent to the mythical North Pole of Earth. You can immediately recognize it by the massive candy-coated castle located in the center of town.

Demographics

The only permanent residents of Yule City are the Yule goats. With their thick black fur and affinity for the Dark element, they are uniquely suited to the freezing temperatures present in Yule City year-round. They are especially active around the Winter Solstice, where they have an important job to do. While the Elder Goat and his closest underlings receive the wishes of everyone in Altairus and take them to the Pool of Solstice Wishes, the Yule goats in the capital are hard at work making treats and presents for the Altairians who don't get their wishes granted. They are basically the Altairian equivalent of Santa Claus and his elves.

Government

While the Elder Goat is Yule City's honorary ruler, he acts more as a manager. His job is to make sure that the Yule goats all get along and complete their tasks before the Winter Solstice arrives.

Defences

Yule City's biggest defense is the climate in which it is located in, which is inhospitable to most. The other is that the magic of the Winter Solstice simply cannot be "stolen." While many a villain has tried to take the magic present in Yule City for themselves, it simply refuses to be contained.

Assets

Perhaps the greatest asset Yule City possesses is its Winter Solstice magic, which emanates from it at all times of the year but is strongest around the Winter Solstice. This magic is actually Undifferentiated Anima, which not only powers the city and its inhabitants but acts as a powerful ward against wendigoes. It comes from the continual holiday spirit shared by the Elder Goat and all his Yule goats.

Tourism

Some creatures of Altairus like to travel up to Yule City around the Winter Solstice, but given the inhospitable climate of the surrounding area, they do not stay long.

Architecture

Many buildings, including the ornate palace sitting in the center of the city, look to be made out of gingerbread and candy.

Climate

Being so far north, Yule City is surrounded by freezing cold plains at all times of the year. The city itself is fairly warm, being kept so by the Winter Solstice magic possessed by all the Yule goats and flowing throughout the city.

Natural Resources

In addition to the Winter Solstice magic, there are several caves close to Yule City in the Razorfrost Range that are full of peppermint and hard candy deposits. It is speculated that the Winter Solstice magic is responsible for this anomaly.
