Duress Faerehalaer is calm and polite paladin of Vandria Gilmadrith.
In-Game, Ellarae met Duress in Eagleview Citadel when he had just gotten out of jail, looking quite beaten up. He said he was told by his Goddess to aid Ellarae in her quest to slay a demon.

Personal history
Duress hasn't told much about his childhood, apart from the fact that it was somewhat happy. His mother was a human woman his elf father fell deeply in love with. Their interracial relationship was not regarded as 'proper', because humans are regarded as pets, akin how contemporary humans in our world regard dogs. They are nice to have around and they can be fairly intelligent, but they have such a short lifespan.
As a half-elf, Duress never truly found out where he belonged to. This divide came even more evident when his mother died, of old age, whereas his father had barely aged at all. He regarded his mother as a good, caring mother, who was full of life and was good at singing and dancing. His father he recalled as a calm and loving father, even if there has always been a tone of sadness in the way he acts, possibly due to the fact that Duress' father will live longer than Duress himself. His father is still alive in Duress' hometown somewhere in the West.
