Session 9: New faces on the way home Report
General Summary
Ellarae had a proper chat with the Goddess Hathor about the situation at hand. She wished to watch after Ellarae, but only if the huntress would allow her to. The Goddess didn't want to pressure Ellarae into doing something she would end up regretting. She told her that The Hunt was initially just a small part of a bigger scheme, that the Goddess and the clans of the young fey'ri hunter were battling against the same evil. And that the same ricer which was cushing rapidly through her blood was the very same river, but different looking, inside the party's wizard's heart.
Eventually, after the discussion had ended and a sacrifice in the form of a slice of pie had been placed on the broken altar, for the spirits of the wild to feast on, the group continued onward. In Miner's Delight they had been much expected. Grilgrim Erdan Merriweather Hoppenscotch had tested new recipes and was ready to fill up the party member with new food, which seemed to contain lot of fruits, especially bananas.
In the Miner's Delight the atmosphere seemed to be calm, a little bit sleepy even, but there was one new face Ellarae had not seen before. A middle-aged human man wearing a leather armor, covered with all the dust of travels, had taken an eye-contact and wasn't breaking it. His human-made, well-worn longsword rested against the wall behind him.
Ellarae took interest and approached the fellow, with whom she had a long discussion. The man introduced himself as Cathal Flaxwood and explained being more of a mercenary-type, but had come here in behest of a spirit, who wished to see dead the same threat Ellarae's hunting party would eventually encounter; the fiend in the desert. He said he hadn't come to take part in the hunt, but he and the group had same interests and perhaps they would run into eachother every now and then. He asked if they were going to Eagleview Citadel and if it would be alright if he tagged along. The group agreed and headed to rest after a long and eventful day.
Next morning the party, led by Ellarae, headed out, Mr. Flaxwood in tow. The first day of travel was rather uneventful. On the second they encountered a single wagon of a friendly cactus farmer, and when it was time to rest again, Ellarae fell into sleep...
