On their way to Mavrais the Heirs of Blackstone are ambushed by the Oni Urei and Purebloods from Mordaigh's Hand. The heirs are captured were captured and Etionne Zobelle intends to hold the baron's siblings hostage as a mean of coercion - but not until Urei is allowed to kill one of them as his vengeance for Kabarro. Urei impales Eyrin de Calibor with his glaive and dumps the body in a stagnant pond. She is saved by a deathward cast by Gaspard. In the end the heirs manage s to escape and continue to Malrary
