General Summary
The party woke up in
Oar's Rest and found Hayili on the lower floors as she revealed she tabbed the party for her waiting in
The Broken Oar and had made herself busy with mercenary work while waiting. She revealed some key news to the party, some of which they knew:
- An Arch-Inquisitor has allegedly been killed in recent weeks, the elected crown are working hard to hide this fact to avoid mass panic.
- Freyfrost is in a mass panic as they have a spy in their ranks.
- A tower has appeared in the middle of the ocean 3 miles outside of Oar's Rest.
- There is a creature killing local livestock in the area.
- Temptation has released a VERY hefty contract for Thordak to be brought to King's Bay.
- There is an identical perosn to Olympia who has been imprisoned in King's Bay.
The party decided that their next move would be travelling to
Blackstone and sending Hayili to
Wakefield if she wished to go there. They also considered visiting the
Utrunks clan and attempting to take a look at them and whether they could use Thordak to influence the group.
However, before they did that, they decided to look at the creature killing livestock in the area; especially interested after learning that the creature killed a group of adventurers hired to kill it.
As the party investigated, they found a heavy and dark hole in the ground and, deciding to descend and falling into a pile of animal and humanoid bones, they did battle with the creature within.
The creature was an amalgamation of parts forming a monstrous figure that was part humanoid, part dragon, part 'lizard', part basilisk and part Bulezau (goat monster) and, as it stormed into the combat, the party (Kodo specifically) attempted to reason with it with so far limited effect. They also noticed the technicoloured light source that resembled a 2-dimensional doorway that flickered between colours representing different planes and ideas that impacted the party throughout this combat.
The group was left on a cliffhanger at this point in the combat as the door once again flared a new shade.
