Elder Aspirant Gruggz

You're gonna disrespect Mimsi because you're too cowardly to leave these walls or go anywhere else?

• Fen angrily responds to Gruggz the librarian for the clear disrespect he shows Mimsi in the Monastery of Flowers Scriptorium.

 

Elder Aspirant Gruggz is the head librarian of the Monestary of Flowers and notably is a trained student in the Way of the Sun Soul but lacked the ability to be a skilled warrior, instead choosing to work in the libraries of the Scriptorium and protect the scrolls, manuals and diaries of the monks in the monestary. 
Gruggz is a rather elitist monk who fully believes isolation is the key to the monasteries survival and self-respect. As a result, he sees adventuring monks as outcasts or individuals that lacked the discipline to stay with the monastery and stick with their strict culture. This drew him into conflict with Persicorum as he refused to acknowledge Mimsi as a self-respecting monk and banned Mimsi, Fen and Anastasia from the Scriptorium until Temperance agreed to use his respect and rank to allow the party to attend there.
Gruggz however, did sympathise with Thordak's desire to find the peace to be a monk but advised Thordak the best way to do that was to avoid and end his relationship with Persicorum, describing them as 'toxic chaos' and stating Thordak would find his peace by embracing the Monasterie's ways and leaving behind his adventuring days.
