Nirya Moonbrook
That woman still scares me, I don't give a damn how many woven hats she gives the town or how many smiles... some pasts simply cannot be erased.Nirya Moonbrook was a feared Arch-Inquisitor once. A member of the order after the Dread King. She remained in Elmdale and defended it there, inquisitors were originally an order created to combat the cultists and dark mages of Alturis after the Dread King emerged. Nirya remained to train others in an offshoot group that mostly consisted of locals looking to find purpose and nearby bandits and crownsguard looking to improve their skills. The Protection Act however, offered her purpose. The Inquisitors were reformed and she became a vital Arch-Inquisitor for them. She offered them all the books and knowledge she had accrued over the course of their life, helped to build up Elmdale for Inquisitor training and became a personal trainer for a decade... whilst raising her grandson at the same time. None are sure what Nirya's true belief is when it comes to the protection act but she had retired 5 years ago after finally visiting the Isle of Erathis and has settled down in Lakefort where she runs a small general store, helps repair the local moving wagons and generally acts as a proud member of the village. She is a Grey Haired High Elf who often wears gowns and has a pair of goggles over her eyes that improve the wearers darkvision and eyesight exponentially. Nirya went missing during Persicorum's Feywild time skip but the party have received clues she is alive but not well. Recently, upon visiting Moonbrook Wares in Lakefort, Persicorum learned that she had closed the store in the last 6 months in order to take a 'holiday' there was also alot of suspicious claw marks in her home. On further discovery, and after asking about her origins in The Isle of Erathis the party learned that Nirya seems to have no history before she started as an inquisitor, or at least a history that Erathis was not aware of. They also learned that she had an alter ego, a murderous spirit and myth called the Lady of the Woods in which she was a beastial lycan that lured out and hunted the unwitting, the foolish and the criminal to sate her bloodlust. She left her old robe and longswords in Moonbrook Wares and they have since been claimed by Thordak. When Persicorum were completing the trial of the Hunt, they encountered Nirya and were forced to fight her as she was pushed into a berserk rage by the entity known as the Hunt. Kodo landed the killing blow and Thordak was forced to bury her before taking her title as The Key of the Hunt
