Skyhooks are a creation in Blackstone that came about in the last 6 months. Created by the ingenious inventors Eliora and Gruumph Sinhalf and sold to toy manufacturers across Blackstone. Skyhooks are a hand-held gauntlet like contraption strapped around a single arm. 
To use a skyhook, the wielder has to jump towards a skyrail in Blackstone and will attach to the rail magnetically, allowing them to glide on the skyrails to travel.
Skyhook's are a VERY dangerous piece of technology but there has not yet been any truly controversial deaths through their use.
