Dragons
Dragons being an invading, monstruous species is a fool's myth. They are, as a matter of fact, more righteous to live in Amaanturis than we are... They were here far before, and will probably be far after us... Class of Beastology, Global Academy of Sorcery
Dragons are a race of interplanar reptiles, the ancestor of many species of creatures still living in Amaanturis, like wyrms, scaletakers and pseudodragons, as well as a slew of hybrid creatures. Although endemic to the planet, they were exiled when Ovor Avantuuris decided to create humanity, deemed too wild to cohabit with his new fragile creations. Highly intelligent, the creatures kept a deep and bitter resentment towards the creator Divine and his children, and to this day still despise humanity, having joined the forces of Chaos and its Lords out of pure spite. A lot of them have even reproduced with Demons, leading to the creation of powerful hybrids.
A gold dragon
Originally from the land that Ivultis now occupies, golden dragons are famous for their pectoral gem, accumulating Arcanic energy as they progressively use it, until their death, where it is recycled by other dragons, or harvested by other beings.
A green dragon
Originally from the Southern Islands, most of the green dragons have badly adapted to the Chaos, either becoming maddened destructors, or finding a way to come back to their ancestral home, where they were accepted and sometimes befriended by the humans living there, who respect and worship their elders, leading to groups of Southern fighters called Dragonriders.
Dragons were initially created as a giant, powerful species that could take of their own against the Primordials roaming around the world, and they got rid of many of them, making the planet way more liveable. Ironically, in doing this, they precipitated their doom, and they were banished quickly after to the Chaos. Finding a hostile environment, populated by way more powerful creatures than the Material plane, they were forced to ally with the dominant faction, Demons, to survive, and being welcomed with open arms, they found a home in the Wildlands. Now led by Mishreyn, Dragon of Chaos, the daughter of the previous Broodmaster, and Shaatrixia, Breeder of Chaos, they have unified under a single banner.
Dragons vary wildly in power, from enormous mountains of pure Arcanic energy capable of razing a town in a single stare, to creatures barely stronger than a big lizard. Contrary to popular belief, their color has nothing to do with this, nor does it has to do with their gender. Their color is simply a trace of their ancestral lineage, red dragons being initially from the land now occupied by Marbellian, which led to the country taking the color as its emblem. Although to this day, humans are terrified of dragons and see them as monsters, there is still a few of them living in Amaanturis, generally the most good-natured ones, who don't hold as much resentment, and they hold a prudent but solid alliance with powerful Arcanists called Dragonists. Most dragons, however, would absolutely slaughter any human they encounter, if given the opportunity.
