Mishreyn, Dragon of Chaos

Written by SoleilArya

Cruelty? Giving human emotions and feelings to creatures of the Chaos is nonsensical. The Chaos is, by essence, chaotic. Enthropy does not consider evil and good. Talh Garthen, class about the Dragon of Chaos at the Global Academy of Sorcery

Mishreyn, nicknamed the Dragon of Chaos by her pairs and enemies, is one of the Lords of Chaos. Daughter of Shaatrixia, Breeder of Chaos, and a Primordial Dragon, she is a powerful and solitary Demon. In her residence of the Wildlands, she reigns over all the remaining Dragons of The Chaos, and shares her time between sleeping for dozens of years, fighting with her sibling Kratz, Warmaster of Chaos, and concluding pacts with power-hungry Arcanists from Amaanturis. Particularly popular in Abzazel-Maktis, she has faithfuls everywhere, and is widely considered to be one of the few Lords to be talkable to, albeit with great precautions.

Mishreyn and her fire affiliation

Due to her nature as a Primordial Dragon hybrid, Mishreyn is capable of both type of Arcanic Matrixes, the particularly fire-leaning draconic ones, and the usual chaotic ones used by her Demons pairs. This makes her a particularly powerful user, and more than capable of being a very succesful patron to many Arcanists.

The origin of the horned demons myth

For a very long time, and still to this day in some parts of Amaanturis, people believed Demons had horns. This myth came from Mishreyn and her followers, visiting the planet for leisure before the pact with the Major Gods of Emrelnnen. The horns are, however, of draconic origin, and aren't present on most Demons.

Before the Divine-Demon pact, Mishreyn liked strolling through Amaanturis, a land made of much more diversity and color than the Chaos, and partially her initial home, since her kind roamed the planet before Ovor created humanity and banished Dragons to the Chaos. Being forced to leave led her to a long period of sadness than ended with her being way more apathetic than she used to be. It also brought a form of cruelty, a coldness towards human that makes her enjoy tricking them into disadvantageous pacts with her, and leading to mistrust towards her from a great part of the population.
Although it is still possible to reason with her, she will mostly demonstrate affection and care towards semi-humans or hybrids than she will to pureblooded humans, knowing how it feels to not belong anywhere. While her family in the Lords of Chaos have great respect for her, notably Ramatha, Herald of Chaos, she had to impose her authority over more minor Demons with strength. This led her to develop a combat rage, during which her horns will glow, her entire body will be encased in a fire hot enough to melt steel on the spot, and most life around her will be vaporized. One of those rages led her to create a hole in the Wildlands the size of a mountain, and made her isolate herself even more, to the regret of her aunt Ramatha, who often visits her in her palace-lair. Despite this, many desperate Arcanists still seek her patronage, and obtain in return for their service a soul marked by the wild fire of the Dragon, one powerful enough to turn the tide of a fight, or even a war.
