Saal Olk
Saal Olk was a student of the Global Academy of Sorcery, known to be eager, enthusiastic and determined to be one of its greatest Sages. Sadly, when he was barely fourteen, he was attacked by a group of anti-magic activists, who hit him behind the head before he could react. After beating him for a dozen minutes, they left him for dead, and he bled out in the following hour, alone and scared. The tragic and heinous nature of his death brought a huge reaction, with multiple magic groups calling for revenge and threatening civil war if the laws weren't reinforced, and in multiple countries, what was now called terrorism started being punished way harsher.
The Academy started employing guards, and students weren't allowed to go in town as they wanted anymore, restriction which ended a couple of years later, but nobody forgot Saal. His name was honored on one of the dormitories, and his story is studied by all students as an example that magic doesn't make you invincible, but also to illustrate how much hate people can have for magic users, even in the modern times.
