Cafe 2} Julwae and Zydeca
Julwae was again in the cafe. She spends a lot of time in this place drawing the people around her. She hummed and tapped her foot on the ground taking a drink of her hot chocolate. She surveyed her surroundings and started a doodle.
Zyd strolled on in, with a strangely full bag of... something. It was zipped tight though, that was for sure. It walked up to the counter, speaking almost too quietly to be heard to the troll manning the counter. Then, it took a seat a little ways from Julwae, taking a moment to glance over everyone in the cafe as if for an ex-lover it didn't want to meet. Purely in analogy, of course.
Julwae spotted it finding it's appearance to be intriguing she started to drawn. She as usual didn't realize she was being creepy as she stared at Zydeca.
It slowly began to freeze, while staring back. Who was this, a cop? Some kind of... rustblooded cop? Well, whatever, it wasn't going to question that. Regardless, it caught the eye of the barista and whistled shortly. The other nodded, and actually wrote up a drink order. Zyd would just have to wait it out, again. Always paid to be careful, after all.
Julwae made sure to get all the crevasses and interest of it's face as she drew. She hummed softly to herself and grabbed her drink taking another sip. She looked back over at Zyd and started drawing again.
Waiting game, waiting game. Spend enough time in the main cafe area, and no one would question it. Hearing its name called soon after, it got up to retrieve the drink that it hadn't really ordered. Again whispering to the counter troll before returning to its seat, bag on its person at all times. It took a sip, again doing a once-over of the whole cafe. If this ironblood was a cop, there would have to be more. Higherblooded ones, too, no doubt. Maybe it would need an escape.
Julwae started coloring in some of her drawings and she smiled. She was now focused on her sketchbook. She really liked the ways these came out.
Zyd was sweating bullets, internally. Finishing its drink, it decided that there probably weren't any other cops around, maybe this ironblood was just fishing around for a big break. So a confrontation might work out. At most, it would lose its bag of merchandise, which wouldn't be the end of the world or anything. So, it stood, threw out the cup, and wandered on over to the ironblood. Taking a seat across from them, it realized that they were drawing, not taking some kind of notes.
Maybe it misread this situation.
Speeding through options, it decided on one-- asking an innocuous question. "WHat are you drawing?"
Julwae didn't notice as it walked over to her and sat so when she heard it speak she let out a squeak of fear. She looked at it and looked around quickly then realized what was happening. Julwae you were staring at someone again!! "I um- oh gog I'm so sorry"
Oh, good, this troll wasn't looking to pick a bone or anything. Letting out an internal sigh of relief, Zyd relaxed slightly. "THere's no problem, it's not a crime. TEchnically." An affable laugh, before continuing. "REally though, what are you drawing? ANd-- what is your name?"
She blushed and looked at her paper. "well um you," She mumbled nervously trying not to look at Zyd "I uh- Julwae is my name,"
And it was scared of this troll? Well, scared was be a loose term, concerned might work better. Definitely not some kind of threat, at least. And it had completely forgotten its psionic abilities, again. Not that they would be much use, unless it wanted to blow up the entire cafe for some reason. "JUlwae is a nice name. I'M ZYdeca. ZYdeca Zacomn." Full name and everything, it's not like the ironblood was suspicious of anything.
She twittled her fingers and looked at it. She chewed on the inside of her cheek "Thanks and um I'm sorry for being weird and creepy and staring at you," She looked at the table " I don't always know when I'm doing it"
Smooth as butter, this was going. With any luck, it'd be getting the signal to go around back soon and offload its goods. "NO problem, I didn't even notice." This was a clear lie, but it let a somewhat-friendly grin spread across its face anyway. The bag shifted slightly, it put an arm around it. Nothing suspicious, nothing out of the ordinary here.
She spotted it but didn't say anything about it. Something probably just shifted and fell it happens. "Okay um is there a reason you came over here than?"
It needed a reason. Well. "I Had seen you drawing, and was interested. IT is very good after all!" A compliment to sooth, an arm tightening slightly over the bag. Another shift. Something was waking up, much less sedated than it had been before. The signal, come on, they weren't that busy, no one would notice some goldblood headed into the back.
She looked at it again for a quick second. "Oh well um thank you for the compliment. They are just some doddles though nothing special"
The bag was in constant motion, now, nearly writhing. The jig would be up, if this went on much longer. Of course, the cafe wouldn't be held responsible for anything, and Zyd was honestly pretty sure it could get away anyway. As long as this ironblood didn't talk... But then all of this could be resolved, if it was just allowed to go into the back room already and pass off the bag entirely.
"JUst doodles? NOnsense! THey're wonderful."
"JUst doodles? NOnsense! THey're wonderful."
"Um is you're bag alright?" she said pointing to it, "It's moving around a lot" She looked at the bag and then at Zyd
The proverbial jig was indeed up. Zyd had just enough time to give Julwae a panicked look before the clearly-angry snake lusus broke out of its bag, falling onto the table with a loud thump and writhing around in a clear rage. For its part, Zyd immediately dropped the whole bag-- which apparently also contained some clothing from a recently-defunct store-- and tried to run. This was all a mistake, it shouldn't have given that ironblood its name, and now where could it go? Certainly not back to its temporary hive, slothmom would give it an earful to last ages. It was, in a word, paralyzed by indecision, right in front of the cafe's door.
Julwae screamed in terror quickly grabbing her stuff and rushing away from the both. Uh oh uh oh. She breathed heavily as she made a rush for the door. She unfortantalty bumped into Zyd on the way to try and get out. She couldn't say anything she just looked at it in terror.
Having gotten bumped into, Zyd returned to its senses somewhat. It would have to take this ironblood with it. Ignoring the general pandemonium of the rest of the cafe, it grabbed the one true witness by the wrist and ran outside. Who cares what slothmom would say, it needed to regroup in its hive.
Julwae was stunned silent oh god was she getting kidnapped right now. Oh god she was getting kidnapped right now. All she could do was let out a squeak of terror as her panic attack really started to kick in.
