Terezi's Treehouse 1} Terezi and Eridan

Terezi played by Jiro, Eridan played by Dodo
Terezi sighed, smelling(?) up at her newly hung scalemates. She smiled and walked into the base of her tree, entering her tree-hive. She sat on the balcony of it, legs dangling through the railing. She was quite relaxed.
The past few days had been extremely interesting affairs for Eridan. For a long time following the merge, the violet blood had mostly been keeping to himself, speaking only on occasion with the majority of the other trolls he’d once been close friends with. While he had occasionally joined memos or sent messages, the snooty seadweller was largely aware of how unwelcome he was, and with how chaotic the periods following the launch of SGRUB had been, he’d decided to embrace that facet of his social status. However, now that things had begun to settle down once more to a state which somewhat resembled normalcy, Eridan had begun to stick his head out of his shell more often. And to his surprise, things had been going remarkably well. Vriska had expressed interest in their old rivalry, Karkat had taken him back in the same way he had before the fusion of worlds, and even some complete strangers seemed to be sympathetic towards him.   It had all shocked Eridan, who had not expected anything of the sort. Though, as you might expect, it had also made him nervous at the prospect of losing the ground he’d tentatively gained. He’d once thought he had Vriska wrapped around his finger, just as engaged in the fierce rivalry they shared as he was, only for her to seem to lose all interest in it shortly before the advent of SGRUB. Eridan was extremely keen on the idea of possibly filling his black quadrant once more, so the last thing he wanted was a repeat of that. Obviously he couldn’t just ask Vriska herself what to do better though. That sort of thing was by far a more red gesture. So if he wanted to do better this time around, he was going to have to get some dirt on the blueblood from other sources. After a brief period of consideration, Eridan had figured that Terezi would probably be his best bet. She was definitely still alive, given how he’d seen her prowling the memos a short time prior, and probably knew Vriska better then any of them. The two had been FLARP partners at one point after all, twin members of the widely feared and envied Team Scourge, who’s name was fitting for a pair of pirates who were the bane of the rest of the scene’s existence. Eridan had never been a part of a team himself, but he had been in dealings with Scourge before, mainly with its cerulean blooded member though. He did know Terezi of course, but it was more in passing rather than any sort of genuine comradery. Still, though, if anyone could give him the juicy info he needed to step up his blackrom game with Marquise, it would be Neoptyhe Redglare herself.   Traveling to the Alternian forests where he knew Terezi dwelled, Eridan’s personal aircraft would come to a hovering halt a short distance above the treeline. He’d once rode his lusus to get from place to place, but in the chaos of the merge, the violet blood had lost contact with his Skyhorse father. Perhaps the aloof creature had simply abandoned him rather than perishing, which was what the seadweller suspected, but either way Eridan had been forced to find new ways to travel. This had manifested thus far in a shrunken down airship for one, appearing as a tiny version of the massive craft the Alternian empire was known for with a slick coat of violet paint rather than the usual red. It was powered with grubs rather than an actual helmsman, so it wasn’t nearly as fast, but it tended to get the job done. Pulling himself out of the cockpit, Eridan would leap down onto a nearby branch, landing with a thump. Although he was by no means the most agile troll out there, his sweeps spent FLARPing and fighting off encroaching enemies during the time after the merge had given him rather deft reflexes, oftentimes to the surprise of many who expected him to be a stuck up fool who could not put his money where his protein chute was. Taking a brisk climb downwards, the violet blood would find himself within a short distance from Terezi’s hive. Brushing off some clinging leaves from his traditional outfit as he walked, Eridan would call out to the lounging tealblood as he approached, knowing that she would be unable to see him coming.   “‘EY REZI!” The seadweller barked, cupping his hands so that his voice would reach her from the bottom of the massive tree she lived in. “YA GOT A MINUTE? I WWANTED TO TALK TO YOU!” Eridan would add a moment later, letting out a short breath once he’d finished speaking. Hopefully she’d heard him, otherwise he would have to find another way up to get her attention.
Terezi stood up and peered her head down over the balcony. She took in a breath -through her nose- and smelled the seadwelling troll. "H3Y 3R1D4N! 1 4LW4YS H4V3 4 M1NU1T3. W4NN4 COM3 1NS1D3? 1 W4S 4BOUT TO DO 4NOTH3R TR14L BUT 1T C4N W41T!" Terezi smiled, carefully climbing off the balcony and onto a part of the tree, then do the ground in front of where Eridan is. He was much taller than her, but she didn't mind.
Eridan may have been larger than Terezi, but the violet blood had long since learned not to underestimate the blind teal. For most, losing their vision would be a crippling condition. And even if it wasn’t, it was hard to imagine anyone still being a skilled fighter after losing such a crucial sense as sight. However, with the help of her lusus, Terezi had been able to learn how to interpret scents and flavors in such a way that she could nearly emulate seeing. It was actually rather impressive to Eridan, even if it was both rather disgusting when she put her tongue all over things and not something he’d ever verbalize. While he was able to get along with some landwellers despite his statements of their inferiority, it was extremely rare that he would outright admit respect or admiration for anyone who didn’t have fins attached to their face.   As the teal climbed down to greet him, Eridan couldn’t help but smile just a small bit after she welcomed him. In his mind he had already resigned to the idea that he would probably be turned away, but Terezi giving him such a warm welcome came as a pleasant surprise. Most seadwellers who behaved in the same manner as him were not so fortunate as to be looked upon favorably by anyone who dwelled on land, but it seemed as if Eridan had found a small group of other trolls who liked him. Or at least tolerated his continued presence, anyways. It wasn’t like he was particularly chummy with any of them except for Karkat when they occasionally got together to gossip or discuss taste in cinema. “Puttin’ off your trial on my accord? Not exactly the reaction I expected from the famed Redglare but I’ll take it.” Eridan mused in a slightly more pleasant tone then normal, glancing down towards the shorter troll before looking upwards. Terezi had climbed down, but as far as he could tell, there wasn’t any way back up. He had thought there might be a rope ladder of some kind, but the teal hadn’t bothered to unfurl one. Scratching his head for a moment as he gazed upon her hive, Eridan would tilt his head downwards once more with a confused expression. “Howw exactly are wwe supposed to get up there noww? Unless you sprouted wwings like that lusus a yours I’m failin’ to see a wway up other then branch hoppin.’” Eridan observed rather bluntly, hoping that they wouldn’t need to do that. Clambering down from the treetops had already tarnished his outfit enough as far as he was concerned.
"H3Y, TR14LS 4R3 V3RY 1MPORT4NT. JUST B3 GL4D TH4T 1M 4T L34DT NOT T3LL1NG YOU TO GO 4W4Y SO 1 C4N DO TH3 TR14L." Terezi walked over to the trunk of her tree, pulling open a concealed door in it. She slightly walked inside, turning around to wait for Eridan. She doesn't know why she turned around. She can't see him coming, anyways.
A secret door? Well, that certainly worked. Eridan hadn’t expected the tree to be set up in that way, but he wasn’t going to start complaining about the environmental repercussions of hollowing out a single tree or anything when it didn’t matter and also meant he could avoid scuffing up his well combed hair any more then he needed to. Advancing towards the newly opened passage, the violet blood ducked his head as he entered, assuming the lead as he began to ascend the ladder within the emptied trunk. It was a bit of a tight fit for him, since he was a bit more massive than the teal blood, but he managed to fit alright as long as he squished his shoulders inwards a bit. “Yeah yeah, I’m humbled by your generosity o’ great legislator.” Eridan would say with blatant sarcasm as they ascended, pulling himself out into the interior of Terezi’s home a moment afterwards.   As he did, the seadweller was immediately greeted by the overwhelming smell of chalk dust. Raising an arm, Eridan would emit a light cough as he glanced around in confusion, noting how marked up the walls, floor, and even the ceiling was with the colorful substance. He’d heard jokes from Vriska about how she liked to eat the stuff, but he hadn’t realized just how obsessed with the stuff the teal blood was. Clearing his throat a moment later, Eridan continued to look around, noting several scalemate plushies in various states of being chewed up hanging from nooses that stretched down from the ceiling. Most of them had been outside, but it seemed as if justice had found its way indoors too. With a sigh, the violet blood would peel his ganderbulbs from the wild surroundings as he waited for Terezi to join him, drumming the fingers of his right hand against his thigh idly while he did.
